Summer Skin Care Tips

• Protect your lips – The sun’s rays dry the delicate lip tissue. To keep your lips moisturized, start using a richly textured lip balm with an SPF 15 or higher and reapply regularly when outdoors.

• Cool off – Keep a face mist in your ice chest so you can mist your face and body while on the beach. A red tea face mist could do the work.

• Spritz your scalp – Long locks offer some shade from the sun, but the sensitive skin along your hairline can get bombarded with harmful UVA and UVB rays. Use a sunscreen spray along your hairline. A spray is a better choice than a cream.

• Take a cold shower – Hot showers after sun exposure further dry skin. Turn down the temperature and you’ll see the benefits. A cold shower after excess sweating helps keep the skin fresh, decreasing acne breakouts.

• Slough away dry skin – One of the most effective ways to exfoliate during the summer is to use a scrub on dry skin before you shower. Pay special attention to knees and elbows and finish with a rich body cream or oil within three minutes of toweling off.
